Press release for the organization of One Days Awareness Cum Input Distribution Programme

        One Days Awareness Cum Input Distribution Programme on “Enhancing Farmers' Livelihoods in Manipur through Climate-Resilient Agriculture: Leveraging NICRA and SCSP for Sustainable Solutions” was organized on 20th March 2025 at Kumbi Leirak Achouba Phoibi Mandop, Kumbi, Bishnupur. The programme was organized by ICAR Research Complex for NEH Region, Umiam, Meghalaya and ICAR Manipur Centre, Lamphelpat, Imphal. This a programme to support the livelihood of the Schedule Caste community in the state. The programme was graced by Dr. Ch. Basudha Devi, Head, ICAR Manipur Centre as the Chief Guest and a team of scientists viz. Dr N. Uttam Singh, Dr. Kh. Rishikanta Singh, Dr. Chongtham Sonia, Dr. Y. Bijen Kumar, W. Anand Meetei and Dr. S. Gojendro Singh participated and acted as resources person in the programme. Dr. Ch. Basudha Devi stated that climate change had a huge impact to agriculture and emphasised that farmers need to adopt climate resilient farming practices and crop varieties to withstand the impact of climate change. Around 160 farmers participated in the programme. Critical inputs comprising of high yielding improved poultry chicks and fish fingerlings were distributed to the farmers during the programme.
